Welcome to our Defter Sports Terms of Service. This helps you make informed decisions about your relationship with us, so please read it carefully. This is important, so please read this and our Privacy Policy carefully and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Cantera by Defter Sports Privacy Policy

Effective as of 21 August 2019.

Cantera is a product and service that is provided by Defter Sports Limitada (“Defter Sports”).

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) governs the data you submit using one or more of the Defter Sports products and services (“Products” or “Service”).  To provide you with the Cantera service, Defter Sports needs to collect some information about you and this is where we describe the information we collect, what we do with it and how you can manage and control the use of your information. By entering or using the Cantera service you agree and consenting to the use of your information as explained in the Cantera Terms of Service. Please read this Policy carefully. If you don’t agree with these terms, please don’t use the service. In the event that you are a child under 13, you will need to get your parent or guardian to provide consent to your use of the Service before you can submit any personal information.

1. What is the product and service

Cantera is a service and tool that club directors, team coaches,  players and player’s parents use to help enhance understanding on teams and improve player performance and their enjoyment of sports, to inspire others and be inspired by others.

2. Information we receive about you

We receive a number of different types of information about you. This is the information we receive:

2.1 Registration data

When you sign up for the Cantera Service, we may collect information we ask you for, like your username, password, e-mail address, date of birth, gender, postal code and country. If you connect to the Service using your Facebook credentials, you authorise us to collect your authentication information, such as your username, encrypted access credentials, and other information that may be available on or through your Facebook account, including your name, profile picture, country, hometown, e-mail address, date of birth, gender, friends’ names and profile pictures and networks. We may store this information so that it can be used for the purpose explained in section “How we use the information we collect” and may verify your credentials with Facebook.

2.2 Information you choose to share

Your information also includes the information you choose to share and post  (or that a child you have authorized on the Service, if applicable) on Cantera, such as comments, skill evaluations, photos or videos (collectively, “User Content”). We may also collect information you voluntarily add to your profile; such as your height, weight, shirt number, primary foot, preferred position, team, statistics to enable you to create your personal coach, player or supporter profile.

2.3 Device and Usage information

When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, we may collect certain anonymous analytical information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers, information about your interaction with the Services, including the actions you take on the Services, and other diagnostic data (“Usage Data”) for analytics and crash reporting. Device and usage information will be shared with Google Analytics (Google), Apple Analytics (Apple) and Crashlytics (Fabric, a Google Company), the information may also be collected by Third Party SDKs when connecting or interacting with them.

Third Party SDKs

Third Party SDKs include:

  • Crashlytics (Fabric, a Google Company): provides us with the ability to capture and collect crash logs through the Crashlytics service and interact with the Twitter Platform if and when you choose to connect your Twitter account.

2.4 Tracking and cookie data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and we hold certain information.
Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Other tracking technologies are also used such as beacons, tags and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyse our Service.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service. For example, we may use cookies to store your preferences or other settings so you do not have to set them up every time you use the Service. Some of the cookies we use are associated with your account (including personal information about you, such as the email address you gave us or your username), and other cookies are not.

3. How we use the information we collect

We may use the information we collect, including your personal information, to: provide, personalise and improve your experience with our Service, ensure technical functioning of the service, develop new features, and analyse your use of the service, including your interaction with the applications and services that are made available, linked to or offered in the service  and track User Content and users as necessary to comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other applicable laws; communicate with you for service related purposes, including promotional emails or messages; enable and promote the service, including features and content of the services made available through the service, such as sharing, user interactions, notifications and suggestions, and integrations with third party services. If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address and our responses.

4. How we share the information we collect

We may share the information we collect, including your personal information, as follows:

Cantera is a social service, which offers many ways to find, discover and share content, and we enable and encourage users to explore who else is using the Service and their public profiles. Most of your Cantera information is or may be publicly available to others by default, such as your name, profile picture and your connection to your team and your stats, including the personal player information you choose to fill out.

Your information may also be used to notify others, including on the service, via e-mail, and through Facebook and other integrated services, that you have joined Cantera, and activity related to their Cantera profiles, content which they follow, or which we think otherwise may be of interest to them.

Information such as player profiles, match facts and squad related information may be used, re-shared or linked to by others on the service or others across the web, so please use Cantera carefully. Also note that statistics and other content added to your player profile may include personal information, such as your name and profile picture, which could enable other persons to find you in the Cantera Service or other services.

Importantly, to change, or limit access to or sharing of information collected from Facebook or other integrated service, please visit your account settings on that service.

Defter Sports may share your information and User Content with third parties for the purpose of providing the Service to you and as needed to implement the Service. In all other cases, we will ask your consent before disclosing your Personally Identifiable information to an unaffiliated third-party.

5. Links / Advertising

Cantera may display content , which links to third party websites. We cannot control or be held responsible for third parties privacy practices and content. Please remember that when you use a link to go from the Service to another website, our Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. Please read their privacy policies to find out how they collect and process personal information.

6. Security

We are very committed to protecting our users’ information. While we take reasonable data protection precautions, no security measures are completely secure, and we do not guarantee the security of user information at any time.

6.1 Children's privacy

Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. Defter Sports does not allow for children under the age of 13 to sign up to Cantera. Parents can review their child’s personal information collected by the Service and my contact Defter Sports at the notice address below to request that their child’s information be deleted or refuse to allow further collection or use of their child’s information. In order for parents to exercise the foregoing rights, parents must communicate their requested changes to Defter Sports at the notice address below.

We may make changes to this privacy policy from time to time, so please visit this privacy policy regularly. We may let you know via email prior to the change becoming effective and update the “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the service thereafter constitutes acceptance of the changes.  Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
